Friday, March 2

DeKalb County School District officials said security was increased at Sequoyah Middle School after someone posted a social media message threatening violence at the school. 

The post mentioned shooting up the middle school at noon Friday. It included pictures of young children of color.

Thursday, March 1

ExploreA threat was posted to social media warning of a shooting at Lakeside High School.

“We are going around to neighborhoods and neighborhood schools,” the SnapChat post stated. “JOIN THE SHOOTING OR GET KILLED.”

The school’s PTA to sent a message to families late Thursday night on behalf of principal Damian Bounds.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

Gwinnett County Schools reported that students at Peachtree Ridge High School tried to set-up another student by posting a threat and trying to pin it on another student.

School officials and a resource officer investigated will be taking disciplinary action against students involved.

At North Paulding High school someone found a note threatening violence on the wall of a girl’s bathroom. Administrators and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department investigated and do not believe the threat is credible.

The school will have officers on campus Wednesday.
