Once again, Atlanta is the home of one of the nation's top 5 colleges for nursing, according to Niche.com.
Last year, Emory University snagged the No. 2 spot based on academics, admissions, financial and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education.
Niche also relies on reports from its own users. They collect information about each school’s nursing student SAT/ACT scores, the nursing program demand, and nursing test scores compared to the test scores of students pursuing other majors at the same school.

In addition, Niche looks at user survey responses to questions about the overall experience of current and graduated nursing majors. The latest ranking showed Emory slipping down from No. 2 to the No. 4 spot just below Duke University and Johns Hopkins, the runner up.
The No. 1 spot was maintained by last year’s top nursing college, University of Pennsylvania. To be considered for this ranking, schools must confer at least 20 bachelor’s degrees in the field annually or have majors represent at least 2.5% of all bachelor’s degrees conferred by the school.
This year, Niche’s top 10 colleges for nursing in America are:
- University of Pennsylvania
- Johns Hopkins University
- Duke University
- Emory University
- University of Rochester
- Villanova University
- University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
- New York University
- Saint Louis University
- Georgetown University
