Angela Gray is a First Grade Teacher at Baggett Elementary. While working in early childhood development for 16 years, she has taught Pre-K for the state funded lottery program, owned and directed a licensed childcare facility, and is currently in her third year of teaching within the Gwinnett County Public School System.

Angela earned her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education at Georgia Gwinnett College and will earn her Master’s in Curriculum/Instruction & Accomplished Teaching from Valdosta State University at the end of the year. She is a member of the Baggett Elementary charter staff and is part of the leadership team. She serves as the First Grade Literacy Lead Teacher, and volunteers as a coach for Girls on the Run. Angela attributes her core values as an educator to her mentors, Jennifer Chandler, Kimberly Sutton, Jessie Fischer, and Dr. Charlotte Sadler.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is proud to announce a new community recognition program – the AJC Celebrating Teachers Awards. We believe the very best of the best are worth honoring and giving them the recognition they deserve. This will be a moment of significant pride for the honoree, their family and school.
