Police say a Marietta man involved in a two-vehicle crash on East Piedmont Road in Cobb County Tuesday night was in serious condition as an ambulance took him to a nearby hospital.

Joshua Kroswek, 24, of Marietta, was taken to ambulance to Kennestone Hospital following the crash in which the blue 2007 Honda Civic he was driving hit the back of a white 2002 International 9200 tractor pulling a flatbed trailer, according to Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce.

“My understanding is that he’s still there,” Pierce said Wednesday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for WellStar Health System said Wednesday afternoon that she could not release any information on Kroswek.

Pierce said the tractor-trailer was going north on East Piedmont Road and was attempting to make a U-turn at Plymouth Lane when Kroswek’s northbound Civic hit it. After striking the trailer, the Civic careened off into a residential property.

“The car may have very slightly contacted the residence, but there was no true damage, [though] they’ll have to look at those things to make sure,” Pierce said.

The specific cause of the crash remains unknown, Pierce added.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 29-year-old Armando Amezcua of Gainesville, was not injured.
