A Hall County teenager has been arrested after officials said they found him at school with illegal drugs and a knife.

According to Hall County Schools, East Hall High School administrators received a tip that a student had narcotics on campus. That information led them to 17-year-old Damone Perry, who was found Jan. 23 with the drugs and the weapon, the district said in a statement. Officials did not specify the kind of drugs in Perry’s possession.

“As a result of his possession of illegal drugs and a weapon, Damone Perry has been suspended from EHHS pending a disciplinary tribunal,” the district said in the statement. “In addition, Perry was taken into custody by the School Resource Officer.”

Perry was charged with possession of a controlled substance on school property and possession of a weapon on school property.

The case remains under investigation.
