The chief investigator for the DeKalb County District Attorney’s office was jailed overnight in Rockdale County for allegedly driving under the influence.

Channel 2 Action News reported that Craig Scott was driving a county-issued car on I-20 eastbound at Ga. 138 when he was pulled over for speeding about 11:30 p.m. by Rockdale sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies clocked Scott at more than 100 miles per hour before he was stopped, according to Channel 2. Scott refused to take a breathalyzer test, but deputies obtained a search warrant for blood to be drawn. Results of the blood test have not been released.

Scott, 45, was booked into the Rockdale County Jail on DUI and speeding charges, and was released on bond about 9:30 Saturday morning, sheriff’s spokesman Michael Camp told Channel 2.

Erik Burton, spokesman for the DeKalb D.A.’s office, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email, “We have recently been made aware of this situation and will follow our normal internal protocols regarding this matter.”

According to Scott’s profile on linkedin.com, he has been chief investigator with the DeKalb D.A.’s office for four years, after serving four years as chief investigator with the DeKalb County Solicitor General’s office.

Scott was a detective with the Atlanta Police Department from 1993 to 1998, according to that profile.
