Wednesday is off to a soggy start but things dry out later.

“Fortunately, our storms will not be as strong and severe as what we saw to the west with big tornados again yesterday over parts of Louisiana and Mississippi,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan. “For us, heavy rain and isolated severe storm risk - that’ll be now through about 10 a.m. in metro Atlanta.”

Large hail damaging wind gusts are possible in some areas.

“There could be an isolated strong storm popping up,” he said.

The weather moves out this afternoon. Monahan calls for highs in the low 70s. Get ready for chillier temperatures after that, with highs in the 60s through Sunday.
