A train collided with a tractor-trailer hauling prop vehicles for NBC Universal in Conyers on Tuesday evening, officials confirmed.

Authorities said a Conyers officer was patrolling the area of Scott Street where it switches to Pine Log Road around 8:30 p.m. when he saw a tractor-trailer stuck on the railroad tracks between the intersections of South Main and Green streets.

It appeared that the big rig did not have enough clearance to get over the tracks, police spokesperson Sgt. Quantavis Garcia said. It was stuck for about five minutes and officers were trying to notify CSX of the obstruction when they heard the train approaching.

Officers quickly worked to get the driver out ahead of the collision and no one was injured. The intersection, which was blocked for several hours as first responders worked to remove the vehicles, was reopened by 11:30 p.m.

The vehicles being transported were older model prop cars, Garcia said. It was not clear where they were headed, but police said crews are filming in the Olde Town area Wednesday and Thursday.

Police did not disclose the extent of the damage to the vehicles, but one appeared to have its passenger side crumpled in.

NBC Universal could not be reached for comment. CSX did not immediately return a request for information.

With more than 750,000 square feet of studio space, Conyers is regularly used by TV and movie production companies. Some notable titles include “The Originals,” “Ozark” and “Stranger Things,” according to the city’s convention and visitors bureau.
