A statewide search for a 1-year-old girl ended Thursday afternoon when the child was found safe and her father was taken into custody.

The girl and her father, 33-year-old Erjahn McClean, had been the subjects of an Amber Alert issued after the child was allegedly abducted in South Fulton around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to South Fulton police, McClean took the toddler from a home on Upper Elm Street after a physical fight with her mother.

Police confirmed the child was safe shortly after noon Thursday. Charges for McClean, who had been wanted for kidnapping, were not disclosed.

The alert, known as a Levi’s Call in Georgia, was issued overnight, illuminating cellphone screens and populating digital billboards all across the state. Police were looking for a black Range Rover with a Georgia tag believed to be driven by McClean.

Authorities did not say where the two were located Thursday.
