Man dead after double shooting in Gwinnett; police searching for cars, suspects

Gwinnett County police responded to a double shooting Saturday.

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Gwinnett County on Saturday night, police said.

The gunfire occurred around 9 p.m., police said, at the intersection of Valley Club Drive and Sugarloaf Parkway near Lawrenceville. Officers found one man dead at the scene and another with “serious injuries,” police said.

The man killed was identified as 20-year-old Jerimiah Lindsey of Suwanee. The other victim was identified by police as Douglas Ward of Lawrenceville.

A motive for the shooting is unclear at this time. Police said there were “multiple” vehicles involved in the incident that officers were trying to identify and locate. Investigators were also searching the area for security footage and potential witnesses.
