Authorities have a charged a 23-year-old man who was shot Monday following a road-rage incident in the parking lot of a Cobb County Walmart.
Jermaine Davis, who is not in custody, faces a misdemeanor battery charge, police Sgt. Wayne Delk said Wednesday.
According to police, Davis got into a verbal spat with a 62-year-old man before they went into the store, which is in the 6500 block of Barrett Parkway at Powder Springs Road.
The older man, whose name has not been released, was approached again by Davis when they were departing, Delk said, and a dispute turned physical.

“Subsequently shots were fired by the older male and (Davis) was struck,” Delk said at the time. “A 21-year-old female who was with (Davis) then fired shots at the older male.”
The woman drove Davis to a hospital, according to Delk. He was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
“He is not regarded as a fugitive,” Delk told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He knows he has a warrant.”
The older male was not injured during the incident and left on his own.
“This remains an active investigation,” Delk said, “and the names of other involved parties are not being released as yet.”
