“In an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver of the Explorer swerved and then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go into a barrel roll,” Clayton County police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said. It is unclear if the occupants were ejected from the SUV.

The blue sedan continued on I-75 North.

The 2-year-old died at the scene, Marbury said. The 5-month-old girl was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The victims’ parents and 4-year-old sister were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Their identities have not been released.
