A 13-year-old was killed Monday night in what Clayton County authorities say was a late-night armed robbery in Forest Park.

Clayton County police said the boy was putting air in the tire of his sister’s vehicle around 11 p.m. when a red SUV pulled up, two men got out and demanded the girl’s keys and other belongings.

The girl turned over the keys, and one of the suspects grabbed a necklace from around her neck, police said.

One of the suspect’s tried to start her car, but couldn’t.

Shots were then fired by one of the suspects at both the vehicle and the brother and sister, police said.

The two tried to run away, but the boy was hit and died later of his injuries, said Clayton Police Officer Phong Nguyen.

Channel 2 Action News identified the boy as Steven Galindo.
