Hall County deputies are seeking a man who attempted to abduct a 10-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon.
About 4 p.m., deputies responded to a home in the 4500 block of Old Cornelia Highway, sheriff’s deputy Stephen Wilbanks said Wednesday in a news release. They learned that the boy was taking a booster seat to his mother’s vehicle in the driveway when an unknown man approached him from behind.
“The perpetrator grabbed the victim and began dragging him toward the back of an adjacent home,” Wilbanks said, “but due to the level of resistance being offered by the victim, the perpetrator let go after a short distance.”
The boy ran back into his home and told his mother, who called 911.
Police dogs tracked the man to the area of Roy Cagle Road but lost him, Wilbanks said.
The man is described as about 6 feet tall and of medium build, Wilbanks said. He was wearing black jeans, a white shirt and had his face covered with a black cloth.
The boy sustained minor scrapes and bruises, Wilbanks said. He was checked out by emergency crews at the scene.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call investigators at 770-531-6879.
