A 15-year-old suspect was arrested Friday, just one day after police sought the public's help identifying a man who sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in front of her child.
Clayton County Police said tips from Clayton County residents led them to the 15-year old after local news media published accounts on Thursday of the Nov. 30 assault.
The woman was assaulted in the parking lot of the 1600 block of Norman Drive in College Park.
The reports included video that police had obtained at a convenience store near the assault that showed a young man or youth wearing the same clothes as the suspect — jeans and a gray hoodie.
The youth, who police did not identify, was arrested and police obtained a warrant to search his residence. He was charged with kidnapping, criminal attempt-rape, cruelty to children, armed robbery, sexual battery and burglary.
