The Woodstock mother charged in connection with the death of her 24-day-old daughter was sent back to jail without bond after a court appearance Friday, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Alyssa Kincaid, 24, is charged with cruelty to children in the death of Ciara Campbell. She was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Dec. 10 after she was found unresponsive at her grandmother’s home. She died three days later after she was later taken off life support. Deputies had gone to the home off Magnolia Springs Drive after receiving a “child not breathing” call.

Authorities have said “multiple injuries” were discovered on the child, but have not disclosed specifics.
On Friday, Cherokee County Judge James Drane granted the state’s request that Kincaid get no bond.
“When children are brought into this world, they come into this world with a hope,” Drane said. “The truest harm in this case is that we will never know what that child could’ve done.”
Kincaid's boyfriend, Nicholas Campbell, 26, who is charged with four counts each of child cruelty, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the case, had a separate hearing Friday, Channel 2 reported. He did not receive bond.
Cherokee County District Attorney Shannon Wallace said a decision on what charges to bring forward will be made after a review of autopsy results. Depending on the results, upgraded charges are possible, she said.
