A 27-year-old woman has been accused of stealing about $7,200 from parking meters in downtown Austin, Texas according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Jessica Wright, a former manager of a popular Texas parking services organization, was charged with theft after police say she had been collecting revenue from two automated parking lot meters, the affidavit said.
After she resigned from her job last June, the keys and an additional set of keys for the meters went missing, the affidavit said. Employees noticed something was wrong after they collected only $10 in revenue from the two meters.
The employees told police they were expecting to collect over $6,000 in cash based on past revenue reports, the affidavit said.
After police reviewed surveillance video, they saw Wright collecting money from the meters several times, the affidavit said.
Jail records show Wright was not in custody Monday afternoon, records show.
