A Sandy Springs woman is facing misdemeanor charges in a fatal Cobb County wreck.
Shaina Carter Fernandez, 28, turned herself in at the Cobb County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday on charges of second-degree vehicular homicide, following too closely, driver to exercise due care and possession of marijuana in connection to a crash that killed a Marietta man Saturday afternoon.
Investigators said Fernandez was driving a Volkswagen Jetta that ran into the back of Eddie B. Strickland's 1929 Ford Model A on Paper Mill Road near Atlanta Country Club Drive in Marietta. Strickland's Ford was forced into the westbound lanes, where it overturned and hit another vehicle. Strickland, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His two passengers were transported to hospitals.
No other injuries were reported.
Fernandez was released Tuesday from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
