A woman has been charged after a crash on southbound I-75 in Cobb County that critically injured her children, police said.

Tiffany Brooks, 28, of Crystal River, Fla., was driving Sunday morning when her minivan struck a car, overturned, and came to rest near the Canton Road Connector entrance/exit ramp, Marietta police spokesman Jared Rakestraw said.

Brooks’ two children, 8 and 4, were ejected, police said. They were in the back seat and unrestrained. The kids were flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where they were listed in critical condition.

Brooks was charged with two counts of serious injury by vehicle, two counts of second-degree cruelty to children, two counts of failure to properly secure child safety restraints, improper lane change and reckless driving, Rakestraw said.
