A woman accused of stabbing her daughter’s boyfriend was arrested overnight in northwest Atlanta.

Officers called to a home in the 2200 block of Baker Road about 1:30 a.m. Thursday found the man stabbed in the stomach, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty told AJC.com.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, and Daugherty said his injuries appeared to be serious.

“Officers were able to speak with a female victim who was uninjured,” he said in a statement. “This victim advised officers that she and her boyfriend were in an argument with her mother, which eventually led to her mother attempting to stab her.”

The boyfriend was stabbed when he tried to intervene, she told police.

The woman’s mother was found at her own home, not far from the Baker Road residence, and taken into custody. She has not been identified by police.

She was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and criminal trespass.

The incident is still under investigation.
