Police are searching for the teenager who pulled a gun on a Clayton County family last week during an attempted carjacking in a driveway.
The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. last Wednesday at a home on Shoals Place Trail in College Park, police said.
Surveillance video obtained by Channel 2 Action News appears to show the suspect aiming his handgun at his intended victims and pulling the trigger. The gun doesn’t fire, but it’s unclear if the weapon jammed or if it simply wasn’t loaded.
The video also shows the suspect trying to enter the family’s SUV, but the man follows him around the vehicle, pushing him away as he tries to get inside. The homeowner, who asked not to be identified, told the news station he was just trying to protect his wife and sister, who were inside the car at the time.
“I was scared of him going inside to shoot my wife and sister,” he said.

After trying several more times to enter the vehicle, the would-be thief walked away from the home and into some nearby woods, authorities said.
Police believe the teen is between 14 and 18 years old. He’s about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds. Anyone who recognizes him on the surveillance video is asked to call Clayton County detectives at 770-294-3711 or send an email to robbin.fleming@claytoncountyga.com.
