Union City police have released the identities of two shooting victims, one of whom was dead at the scene, recently discovered near Highway 92.
The dead woman is Christina Wellington, 30, who was found shot and lying in the middle of McClure Road off Highway 92 . The male victim was identified as Marshall Wellington, 54, who was discovered in the woods near the side of the road.
The last known address was the Sunset Lodge, 2942 Ember Dr. in Decatur, according to a release from the Union City police department. A man identified as the daytime manager at the extended stay hotel, Prati Singh, said he last saw the Wellingtons on Thursday.
He said the two first checked in earlier this month.
The relationship between the two is unclear.
Marshall Wellington was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Union City police spokeswoman Gloria Hodgson said he was undergoing surgery at Grady Hospital.
A police statement said the investigation is ongoing.
A Fulton County Public Works employee discovered the victims on Friday morning.
