Atlanta police were investigating a drive-by shooting late Friday that left two men wounded.

The victims, whose names have not been released, were walking along Lakewood Avenue in southeast Atlanta shortly before midnight when the shooting occurred, Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said Saturday.

The men told police they were shot at by someone in a burgandy sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer or a Toyota 4-Runner.

One of the victims was struck in the face, the other in the shoulder/neck area, Campos said. Both were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Detectives have not determined a motive for the shooting, Campos said.
