Thieves steal car in Cobb, lead Atlanta police on chase

One man was arrested and another is on the run after the two led police on a chase through southwest Atlanta following an alleged carjacking Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Atlanta officers on patrol near McDaniel and Glenn streets spotted what appeared to be a white Nissan Versa reported stolen out of Cobb County at 11:37 a.m., Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown said.

After seeing the officers, the suspects fled to the intersection of McDaniel and Arthur streets, where the car struck a stop sign, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The driver of the vehicle ran away, while the passenger was arrested, Brown said. The driver has not been located. Police have not released their names.
No one was injured in the wreck.
It’s unclear when the vehicle was stolen or where in Cobb it was taken from.
