Roswell police are looking for the suspects who led them on a chase in a stolen car and smashed into a neighborhood sign.

The chase happened Jan. 6 on Old Alabama Road in Johns Creek, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Dashboard camera footage shows an officer in pursuit of a BMW coupe near Nesbit Ferry Road. Police told Channel 2 the car had been reported stolen in Johns Creek.

At some point, the driver smashed into the sign at a subdivision off Abbotswell Drive, Channel 2 reported.

The wreckage still has not been cleared.

“We saw the police coming through the neighborhood with their K9s  and that sort of thing,” Sherry Ragole, who lives in the neighborhood, told the news station. “There was a lot going on for a little while.”

A Roswell police spokesman said after the crash the suspects ran away.

“There was nobody in the vehicle,” Officer Sean Thompson said. “There was a Glock 17 located inside the vehicle and some other property that was most likely stolen.”

Police told Channel 2 the suspects have been tied to several car break-ins in Johns Creek and might have been involved in incidents in Gwinnett County.
