A manhunt was underway in Clayton County Tuesday morning after several suspects led police on two chases, allegedly firing at officers along the way.

Two juveniles were in custody, and a third person was being sought in the area of Mount Zion and Tara boulevards in Clayton County.

“We received a call that Atlanta police were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle,” Clayton County police Lt. James Robinson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “That vehicle had taken a few shots at one of the officers.”

When police stopped the vehicle, the suspects ran.

“We set up a perimeter and took a couple of individuals into custody and we still have one at large and are continuing our search,” Robinson said.

Georgia State Patrol troopers as well as police from Clayton County, Hapeville and Atlanta were involved in the search for the third suspect, who Robinson said was “considered armed and dangerous.”

“We probably have 15 officers, K-9s and the helicopter up looking for the suspect,” he said.

The first chase ended when a minivan slammed into a house in southwest Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The suspects were later spotted in a stolen Jeep Cherokee, which was forced to a stop in Clayton County by a Hapeville officer who performed a “pit” maneuver on the Jeep, according to Channel 2.

No injuries were reported in either of the chases.
