A man arrested Wednesday is facing charges in two bank robberies over two days in southwest Cobb County.

Charles Travick, 54, was taken into custody after a short chase following an alleged robbery at a Regions Bank location on Mulkey Road.

“The suspect entered the bank, armed with a handgun, demanding money,” Cobb police spokeswoman Officer Sydney Melton said Thursday in a news release.

Officers were not far behind Travick, who police said left the scene Wednesday morning in a silver Kia Optima. He was quickly arrested without incident, she said.

Investigators have since identified Travick as a suspect in another bank robbery. In that incident, which occurred about 9 a.m. Monday at the BB&T on Tramore Pointe Parkway, a man was seen on surveillance footage carrying a handgun and a large black bag, according to police. His face was covered with a gray mask.

Witnesses said he left the bank in a silver sedan, according to police.

Investigators have not disclosed how much money was taken in either incident. Police have turned over both cases to the FBI, Melton said.
