Gwinnett County police this week arrested a teenager accused of shooting a 14-year-old girl a month ago at a gas station near Norcross.

Police last week identified Finesse Hoff, 17, as the suspected shooter, and Hoff was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on charges of reckless conduct and possession of a pistol by a person under 18, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said Friday.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was a passenger in a vehicle that was being fueled at the Marathon gas station in the 2000 block of Beaver Ruin Road on Oct. 6. The victim was struck by a bullet that police said was accidentally fired from inside the vehicle.

The girl was taken out of the vehicle and while she was being tended to, the suspected shooter got back inside the vehicle and drove away, police said.

The victim was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for treatment. Police later found the unoccupied vehicle in the Bradford Gwinnett apartment complex.
