A student was carjacked and beaten on the campus of Clark Atlanta University, police say.

The student, described in an Atlanta police report as a 24-year-old woman, told officers three people grabbed her by her hair, dragged her out her car, punched her and kicked her.

The attack happened about 4:40 p.m. April 25, police said.

Officers arrested three people, including an 18-year-old man.

The student had just finished class when she noticed three people, two men and a woman, walking along a sidewalk at the intersection of Larkin and Roach streets, according to a police report.

As the victim entered her blue Volkswagen Beetle, the two men dashed toward her as the door was closing. One of the men managed to pull back open the door, grabbed her by her hair and drag her out of the car.

The two men stood over the woman and punched her in the face, demanding she give up her belongings, police said. When she gave them her keys and cell phone, the men continued beating the woman and kicking her in the stomach.

The woman remained on the ground as the two men snatched her necklace.

When she finally stood up, the woman was pepper sprayed by a person in a stolen white 2007 Dodge Caliber, pushed back to the ground and was nearly hit by the car as it sped away.

Two witnesses saw the attack and chased the car and the victim’s car down a dead end street, blocking them in until police arrived, according to the report.

Police found a stolen firearm on one of the men in the getaway vehicles.

Zyderryo Brown, 18, was one of three men arrested in connection with the beating and carjacking. Brown had an active warrant for auto theft in College Park, police said.

Brown was charged with battery, theft, hijacking and giving a false name, according to the report. Police did not release the name of the other persons involved.

The victim’s car was recovered at the scene. She was treated for injuries to her forehead, left forearm, right elbow, both hands and both knees.
