The GBI has released sketches of the men thought to be responsible for kidnapping a mother and her two children Friday.

The kidnapping began as a seeming carjacking, according to Atlanta police reports.

A man was shot outside a home in the 600 block of Reed Street in southeast Atlanta on Friday morning, authorities said.

The woman and her children were in a car outside the home when one of the suspects jumped in the passenger’s side and the car sped away, followed by a black Jeep, police said.

The woman and children were found safe and uninjured Saturday morning, and police have been looking for the two suspects.

In publishing the artist renderings of the suspects, police are asking that anyone with information about the incident call Atlanta police Investigator Scott DeMeester at 404-546-5569.

The investigation continues.
