A police SWAT team was called to a DeKalb County home late Thursday night, and two men were reported shot, one fatally.

Around 10:40 p.m., police were called a report of shooting on Forest Avenue near Stone Mountain, Channel 2 Action News reports.

A neighbor reported seeing a man running toward a home following the shooting, and a DeKalb Police SWAT team was called, police told Channel 2.

“Officers arrived on scene, and we in fact found two people shot,” DeKalb Police Capt. Lisa Gassner said. “Witness told us that one of the shooters possibly ran toward the home.”

The SWAT team was deployed and checked out the home before determining no one was inside.

Police found the men in a car that they had wrecked, apparently after the shooting, Channel 2 reports.

Both men were removed from the car with bullet marks in the rear window and taken to a nearby hospital where one was pronounced dead, according to Channel 2.

A woman also with the men inside the car was unharmed and is cooperating with investigators, Channel 2 reports.

No motive has been identified.

The investigation is ongoing.
