Two security officers were shot around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Blue Flame adult nightclub, Atlanta police said.

Two security officers shot at a northwest Atlanta strip club are expected to recover, according to police.

The officers were shot around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Blue Flame nightclub at 1097 Harwell Road, Atlanta police Officer Lisa Bender said.

One of the officers, Brandon Williams. was shot in the buttocks and the other, Noah Hurst, was shot in the leg, according to the incident report.

They had escorted a group of club patrons out of the club for “inappropriate behavior,” Bender said.

“The group became loud and belligerent in the parking lot, and at least one of the male patrons made gestures implying that he possessed a weapon,” she said.

The group, which included about three men and five women, climbed into vehicles and left the club parking lot, but one vehicle reportedly circled back around, according to police.

Someone inside the car began shooting in the direction of the club entrance, police said.

“A third security officer returned fire at the suspect vehicle,” Bender said. “At this point it is undetermined if any of his rounds struck the occupants of the suspect vehicle.”

The security officers, who work for a private company, were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
