Mario Deandre Jackson, charged in a Buckhead home invasion, wanted a federal magistrate to tell him one thing at an arraignment hearing Friday: Who was accusing him of the crime?

“I cannot,” U. S. District Magistrate Gerrilyn Brill responded.

Jackson, who pleaded not guilty, is charged with robbery and kidnapping in the May 25 incident at a mansion.

The home was occupied by a husband, wife and three minor children. The suspects drove the husband to an ATM to force him to withdraw cash, prosecutors said. The robbers demanded more money by morning and threatened to harm the family if demands were not met, police said at the time.

The victims, who have not been publicly identified by the court or law enforcement, were also in court.

They declined to comment or say whether they recognized Jackson when asked by a reporter.

Jackson and Leon Scott, both of Memphis, have been indicted in the home invasion. One of the suspects allegedly held the couple at gunpoint.

No bail had been set for Jackson or Scott, who was arraigned July 29.
