A woman struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night in Sandy Springs has died, police said.

Sandy Springs police Capt. Steve Rose said in an e-mail Wednesday morning that the victim, Lanshen Pan, 67, of Sandy Springs died overnight at North Fulton Hospital “of severe head trauma from the impact to the vehicle.”

Rose said that witnesses told investigators that Pan was walking southbound along Roswell Road and was crossing Hightower Trail at about 8:11 p.m. when she was hit by a dark-colored sport-utility vehicle that was making a turn onto Hightower Trail.

“The SUV stopped briefly, and then sped off west on Hightower Trail,” Rose said.

Anyone with information about the accident or the vehicle being sought was asked to contact Sandy Springs police at 911, Investigator Shelly Weed at 770-551-6939 or the Sandy Springs Call Center, 770-730-5600.

Rose said a reward of up to $2,000 is being offered through the Crime Stoppers program.
