The father of a pregnant woman whose boyfriend has been charged with killing her with his pickup truck has withdrawn his support of the man.

Henry County authorities charged Brian Feltman, 27, with murder and feticide for allegedly intentionally ran down Megan Pope, 27, just before 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 in Locust Grove.

Henry County police said Pope, who was about four months pregnant, had walked away from the Locust Grove home she shared with Feltman after an argument. Pope died less than a mile from that home.

Pope’s father, Lawrence Pope, and other family members quickly came to Feltman’s defense shortly after the incident.

But Tuesday, Pope told Channel 2 Action News that he's now convinced his daughter's death was no accident.

Pope said he spent the last few weeks talking with this daughter’s friends and with Feltman about the couple’s relationship, and listening to testimony police gave in court at a hearing this week.

He said he can no longer support Feltman’s claim that his daughter’s death was accidental.

“All I can ask him to do is, if you really want to make Megan happy, tell the truth and get right with God and save your soul, because we can’t help you any longer here,” Pope told Channel.

On Monday, a judge bound the case over to the Henry Superior Court on lesser homicide and feticide by motor vehicle charges, according to Channel 2.
