An elementary school principal in southeast Georgia was arrested after he allegedly planned to meet a teen to have sex, according to a media report.

Paul David Hudson, 49, traveled to Effingham County on Thursday from Bulloch County and allegedly tried to solicit sex from a 15-year-old who was an undercover officer, the Statesboro Herald reported. He has been charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation.

Effingham County is about 230 miles from Atlanta.

Hudson has been principal of Portal Elementary School in Bulloch County since 2001, the paper reported. The school district superintendent said Hudson was immediately suspended.
