One person was injured when shots were fired at a Snellville-area QuikTrip, according to Gwinnett County police. Investigators hope surveillance images released Wednesday will help identify the two gunmen.

Several people were at the Centerville Highway gas station around 6:30 p.m. Sunday when shots were fired, sending some running for safety, according to Cpl. Michele Pihera.

Witnesses told police a driver of a white Dodge Journey backed into a parking space and approached a silver passenger car. After approaching the driver’s side of the vehicle, one suspect then walked to the passenger side and began to have a conversation with the person in the front passenger seat, police said.

Meanwhile, a passenger of the white Dodge got out of the car holding a handgun in his waistband and ran along the sidewalk away from the driver, according to police. Surveillance cameras showed the driver of the silver car pull forward at an accelerated speed, and the man at the passenger-side window pull out a handgun from his pocket and begin shooting.

The passenger from the Dodge, who initially walked away from the car, ran back over and also began firing shots at the silver car, according to police. The two suspects then chased after the silver car as it left the parking lot before getting back into the Dodge and leaving, heading north on Centerville Highway, police said.

Shortly after the shooting took place, a person pumping gas noticed he had been shot in the foot, Pihera said. His injuries were non-life threatening, and he was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.

The white Dodge was later recovered, but investigators have not located the two suspects, police said. Both suspects were between the ages of 18 and 24. One was left-handed and wearing a black shirt and shorts, police said. The second was wearing black shirt with white shorts and had Air Jordan backpack.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
