Sandy Springs police released surveillance video Thursday showing a sport-utility vehicle believed to have struck and fatally injured a woman earlier this week.

Lahnzen Pan, 67, was walking on Roswell Road on Tuesday night when the SUV hit her and fled, police said. Pan later died from her injuries.

Surveillance cameras on Roswell Road and Hightower Trail showed the dark-colored truck, described as a Chevrolet Tahoe, turning off Roswell Road about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. Just off camera, the truck struck Pan, police told Channel 2 Action News.

“It stopped for a brief moment, then continued,” said Sgt. Forrest Bohannon of the Sandy Springs Police Department. “We believe the truck [driver] knew what happened and fled the scene.”

Bohannon said the driver will face vehicular homicide and hit-and-run charges. Because the driver fled, the charges would be upgraded to a felony, he said.

Hai Xing Nie, a friend of Pan’s at the Hellenic Towers senior living community on Roswell Road, told Channel 2 that Pan was a nice woman who was religious. He said her friends were saddened by what happened.

Police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver. Call 404-577-8477 for more information.
