Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pedestrian struck and killed early Tuesday in Marietta.
Shortly after 3 a.m., John Waller of Powder Springs was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup eastbound on Whitlock Avenue, approaching Lindley Avenue, Officer Jared Rakestraw with Marietta police said.
A pedestrian who was crossing Whitlock outside of a crosswalk stepped into Waller’s lane and was hit, Rakestraw said. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identifiied, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The man killed is believed to be in 20s or 30s, about 5-feet-7 inches tall and about 120 pounds, police said. He had short black hair.
