Police: Middle Georgia man sought after shooting in Alabama ‘over a woman’

A Middle Georgia man is wanted by Alabama authorities after allegedly trying to shoot and kill a man “over a woman” Sunday night, police said.

Gary Kyle Turner, 25, of Forsyth, is wanted on an attempted murder charge after the shooting of a 33-year-old at a Lake Forest Shell gas station just before 10 p.m., Daphne (Ala.) police said. The department also released a surveillance photo of Turner.

Police Lt. Brian Gulsby told AJC.com that the incident was domestic, with the two men fighting “over a woman.” The woman was originally from the Forsyth area but now lives in Daphne, which is where the victim lives, he added.

Turner is believed to have left the scene in a black Nissan sedan, the department said in a news release.

No information was released about the victim’s injuries.

Daphne, which is in southwest Alabama, is 10 miles east of Mobile.
