A Florida man was arrested Sunday after police said he hid in his bathroom following an argument with his mother. The man hit an officer on the head with a metal paper towel holder.
Police were called to a home in Leesburg, Florida after Donald Robinson, 26, and his mother allegedly got into an argument and the man barred himself in a bathroom, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Officers arrived to find the door to the bathroom barricaded with Robinson inside.
According to police, Robinson’s mother “was scolding him for running the water in his bathroom for too long” before threatening to not pay for it anymore. Officers were able to get in the bathroom and found both the bathtub and sink full of water. Robinson swung a shower rod at a law enforcement officer, then escaped their grasp and bashed a metal paper towel holder over another officer’s head, causing “severe bleeding,” police said.
The Sentinel reported paramedics estimated the officer was struck by the holder at least 12 times after looking at the injuries. Robinson was arrested on charges of striking a law enforcement officer.
