A Henry County man shot Tuesday night in an exchange of gunfire with group of burglars in his home died Friday morning, police said.
Ronnie Cantrell Sr., 68, died at 3:30 a.m., said Henry police Sgt. Joey Smith.
One suspect in the shooting, 18-year-old Robert Price, is still sought by police.
Burglary suspect Brandon Terry-Hall, 20, was arrested after he showed up at Piedmont Henry Hospital Tuesday night for treatment of gunshot wounds sustained during the incident, police said.
Suspect Trey Cota, 21, was arrested Tuesday night at a home on Edison Drive in the Lexington Park subdivision near Stockbridge.
Police officers responding to the home of Cantrell and his 42-year-old son, Ronnie Cantrell Jr., found the two men shot Tuesday night. They had exchanged gunfire with the intruders, police said.
Both were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, with the father in critical condition and the son having sustained injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Authorities have said they believe Price entered the house with Terry-Hall, while Cota was the getaway driver. A fourth suspect, known only as “Terrence,” is believed to have remained in the vehicle during the apparent burglary. Police recovered a 2013 Kia Rio believed to have been driven by the suspects.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Price should call 911 or the Henry County Police Department.
