A K-9 partner helps turn a traffic stop into a large drug bust.
Custer County deputies tell FOX25 News the incident happened Friday afternoon, on eastbound interstate 40.
The K-9 was used to check out the car, after deputies received conflicting stories from the two unidentified suspects inside the vehicle. It didn't take long for the K-9 to hit on something inside the car.
Deputies say they ended up finding 7 1/2 pounds of marijuana, 1/2 pound of THC candy, and a small amount of meth. No word on where the suspects were taking the drugs.
The drugs were located in boxes wrapped in Christmas paper.
Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Custer County Jail.
