Atlanta police arrested a 15-year-old boy Tuesday who is accused of bursting into a southwest Atlanta convenience store, robbing the clerk and fatally shooting him, according to a police report. Police are still looking for the second person involved.

Chukwujekwu Okeke, a clerk at the Anago Food Mart, was busy stocking shelves when two men walked inside with a gun and confronted him, according to Channel 2 Action News. Customers were inside the store, located in the 800 block of Cascade Avenue.

The teen’s name was not released. He is charged with armed robbery.

“It appears there was some sort of struggle inside, judging from the inside,” Atlanta police Sgt. Nicholas Parete said.

Okeke was shot in the back and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Channel 2 reported.

Ernest Moore, who owns a business near the convenience store, said he heard the gunshots. A woman rushed into his shop and begged him to call 911.

“We just have to be vigilant over here ‘cause this could happen anywhere,” Moore said.

Police are checking to see if surveillance video inside the store captured images of the other man wanted in connection with the robbery and shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
