DeKalb County police have arrested one of two suspects accused of stealing a car with a 6-month-old baby in the back seat late Thursday.

Antonio Trammell, 20, of Decatur, is in the DeKalb jail on a felony theft by taking charge, according to online records. Police are searching for the other suspect.

Witness Christopher Colby told Channel 2 Action News he was grabbing the house key from a Realtor’s lock box when he noticed the car pulling out of a driveway on Deer Pause Lane.

“I chased the car,” he said. “The neighbors gave us a ride to go chase behind the car. They caught them. They jumped out and ran.”

Police recovered the car and the baby less than 1 mile away, Channel 2 said. The infant was unharmed.

This is at least the second incident in metro Atlanta this week involving a stolen car with a child inside.

On Monday, a man stole a vehicle from a northeast Atlanta Burger King with a baby inside. The car was found at Durant Place and 4th Street with the 1-year-old child in the back seat.

Authorities on Thursday released a sketch of the suspect in that case.
