Parents in a northern Paulding County neighborhood were advised Thursday to watch their children when they are outside after a report was received of a possible attempted child abduction.

A mother told the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office her son was approached Tuesday afternoon as he got off a school bus and was walking home in the Somerset subdivision. The boy’s mother said the man and woman offered the boy candy in order to get him inside a gold minivan, Paulding sheriff’s Cpl. Ashley Henson said in a news release. The boy told his mother of the incident and she called 911.

Anyone with information that may be relevant to the case is asked to call the Paulding sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Unit at 770-445-6105.

Detectives encourage anyone who sees suspicious persons or vehicles in their area to call 911.
