Just days after signing with the St. Louis Rams as a free agent, former Lowndes High School and Florida State University football star Greg Reid was arrested in Valdosta on a probation violation.

About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer with the Valdosta Police Department stopped a white Nissan Maxima in the 100 block of West Alden Avenue because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, according to WCTV.

Reid, a former AJC Super 11 selection, was a passenger in the Maxima, the television station reported. He was arrested when authorities discovered he was wanted on a probation violation, according to WCTV.

On probation after a 2012 incident in which he was charged with driving with a suspended license and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, Reid allegedly failed to check in with his probation officer, the television station reported.

He is being held without bond at the Lowndes County Jail.
