South Fulton officers conduct a search warrant Wednesday morning at a home on Carriage Lane after a three-month investigation into alleged drug activity there.

Two people were arrested Wednesday morning after narcotics and SWAT officers raided a home in South Fulton.

The Carriage Lane residence had been under investigation for three months after police received numerous complaints about drug activity there. The tips were especially concerning given the home is about a block from Mary M. Bethune Elementary, South Fulton police Sgt. Jubal Rogers told AJC.com.

“With the school being this close to this location, we do take drug complaints very seriously,” he said. “We do have two people in custody in an effort to get these drugs off the street in the city of South Fulton.”

Undercover officers bought drugs at the home over the three-month investigation, Rogers said. They obtained a search warrant and swept the home early Wednesday morning.

During the search, officers recovered a little over a pound of suspected marijuana and a firearm. Some cash was also recovered as a result of the investigation.

The names of the two arrested were not released. They were renting the residence, according to police.
