A Covington man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a Conyers man this month, authorities said.
Nathaniel L. Barnes, 25, was arrested during a traffic stop July 15, Newton County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cortney Morrison said Tuesday.
On July 4 around 8 p.m. sheriff’s deputies found the body of Julien R. Wyant, 24, at the Orchard Cove apartment complex on Grosslake Parkway, Morrison said. Wyant, whose body was found lying face down in a parking area, was shot multiple times.
A thorough investigation was conducted into the death, Morrison said.
