Mother among 2 facing charges for 3-year-old’s death in Calhoun, GBI says

Two people have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree child cruelty.

A mother is among two people who have been arrested in Gordon County in connection with the dead of 3-year-old child, authorities said.
The GBI arrested Olivia Groomes, 26, of Calhoun, and Robert Elder, 32, Friday on charges of second-degree murder and second-degree child cruelty, the GBI said in a news release.
On May 22, Calhoun police and the GBI began investigating the death of three-year-old Sebastian Kincaid, who was brought to the Gordon County Hospital by Groomes, the release said. Kincaid died shortly afterwards.
Groomes and Elder are currently incarcerated at the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, the release said.
